Frequently asked questions.

Do you accept Insurance for massage?

Body and Soul Therapeutic Massage can currently accept First Choice, Aetna, and Kaiser options/ Kaiser access PPO (must say first choice somewhere on the front of the insurance card). Please contact Mel to go over details about your insurance and determine coverage. A doctor’s referral for massage is required to bill insurance.

If I have an injury due to a car accident or work incident and am on a claim, can I get massage?

Absolutely. If you are on a 1st party PIP or L&I claim and would like to add massage to your recovery treatments, please call/text 253-234-5334 or email bodyandsoulmassage4u@gmail.com so we can set up a claim account for you. A doctor’s referral is required to receive massage therapy while on a claim.

This will be my first massage, what can I expect?

The therapist will first do a short intake with you to find out what your trouble areas are and what kind of limitations in daily activities you may be having in order to formulate a proper treatment plan. After that, the therapist will step out of the room to allow you to undress and get on the table under the sheet and blanket. Upon return, the therapist will always knock before entering. You will be properly draped at all times and at no time will any private areas be exposed. You are free to ask any questions you may have during the treatment, or you may stay silent if you desire peace and quiet. The therapist may periodically check in with you to make sure you’re doing okay with pressure (depth of the massage). When the treatment is complete, the therapist will leave a hot towel for you to wipe off with and step out of the room so you may get dressed. At that point, you can meet the therapist at the front desk to pay and schedule future treatments if desired.
